CHMI Satellite Department is concerned mainly with data aquisition, data pre-processing and processing, distribution of processed images within CHMI and to external users. We receive NOAA/AVHRR and Meteosat (MSG) digital data. Besides these routine works we are involved in software development, data interpretation, training, and some research activities.

Our site is situated at south margin of Prague, at place called Libuš. It is about 5 km from our headquarters and main part of the Institute, which are located at place called Komořany. We share our building with Radar Department, Upper Air Department and a synoptic station.

The easiest way how to reach us is by bus number 215 or 117 from metro station Kačerov. You will find us under a 60 meter high radar tower in a building with an antena on the roof.
